FTRD Training for doctors and nurses

FTRD Training for doctors and nurses

[Fully booked]

The aim of the course is to familiarize the gastroenterologist and nurse with the FTRD system and its application. The entire course is dedicated to safety, effectiveness and mutual communication.

The FTRD (Full Thickness Resection Device) is an innovative development in gastroenterology. By placing a cap, preloaded with a clip of memory metal, on the flexible endoscope, the gastroenterologist is able to perform a partial bowel resection. The principle is based on the already existing surgical TEM technique.

The training is intended for gastroenterologists and nurse practitioners, allowing practical situations to be simulated and aspects of the cooperation to be highlighted.

Training planning

The training consists of two parts:

  • Theoretical background: the technical aspect of the FTRD system will be broadly explained by our experienced Product Specialist Endoscopic Instruments. This specialist will share real-life examples supported by case studies. The product specialist will cover topics such as: indications, complications, structure, practical tips, pitfalls and related literature.
  • Hands-on training: First, the technical structure of the system on a flexible endoscope is explained. Then clips will be attached to specially prepared pig models. Doctors will get the opportunity to place these clips.

Discussion

The training will conclude with a discussion afterwards, where questions will be discussed in the group.
